Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner
As an avid user of eyeliner I couldn't pass up the oportunity to try out Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner when it came as a freebie with my favourite magazine (Glamour) this month.

This eyeliner claims to be an easy-to-control pen that delivers precision point perfection for thick or thin lines and long lasting colour that is smudge-proof, fade-proof and foolproof.

I've tried this type of pen liquid eyeliners in the past and I must say this one is not as watery, which makes application easier as you don't have to go over more than once to obtain a rich black colour.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner is also very long-lasting and doesn't smudge, even if your eyes water, so although it doesn't mention to be waterproof, I would say it is, without being a pain to remove.

The verdict: a really good, true black eyeliner that stays put until you take it off. I really like it and would recommend to fellow liner addicts like me.

Or should I say forest? A couple of weeks ago hubby and I took a short drive to a park I hadn't been to before which I assume is why I can't remember its name (just asked, it's Norsey Wood). We saw quite a few fluffy-tailed squirrels but no hedgehogs :(

My outfit is something I threw on last minute - Cardigan: H&M, Linen top: Forever 21, Jeans: Topshop, Leather boots: H&M. (similar: cardigan, top, jeans, boots)

This Vidal Sassoon straightener found on the clearance section in Boots for just £15 (RRP £60) and jumper from H&M, Avene cleansing lotion £1 from Boots' clearance section.

Did you get anything in the last month?

Sanctuary Spa at 99p Stores

Sanctuary Mum to be 2-in-1 Moisturising Shower Cream 99p stores review

That's right! As I browsed my local 99p store I noticed a Sanctuary Spa product amongst the sea of shower gels. I didn't get it straight away but when I looked for the same product in Debenhams it was £6.50, that's when I definitely went back to get a couple.

Sanctuary Mum to be 2-in-1 Moisturising Shower Cream is an ultra creamy blend of rice bran, sunflower and organic rosehip oils that will leave your skin clean, soft and moisturised in one easy step.

This shower cream doesn't lather very much but it feels incredibly moisturising, so if you enjoy using moisturising shower products this is definitely for you!

Look for Sanctuary Mum to be 2-in-1 Moisturising Shower Cream in 99p Stores for great value, but if you can't find it check out Boots and Debenhams.

Have you tried Sanctuary Spa products?

My family is coming to visit next week, haven't seen them in about a year so yeah exciting times :)
We'll take them out (shopping!) and even on a day trip to France (more shopping & macaroons!) haha.
I've been thinking of making videos but I'm not sure, maybe I could start with vlogs documenting my adventures? But then what video editor should I use?

All Used Up #6

e45 sk:n cleanser l'oreal micellar gliss liquid silk nivea day cream sanctuary float loreal perfection pearl drops sleep

The latest batch of finished products:

E45 Nourish & Restore Body Lotion: I received this cream to review and quite liked it, nice consistency, rapidly absorbed, leaves skin very smooth and soft. A great product for autumn/winter. Full review here.

sk:n Vitamin-Rich Cleanser for oily skin: this cleanser gently removes make-up and impurities from the skin and contains glycolic acid, evening primrose oil and vitamins A, C & E. I quite liked using this cleanser, it doesn't lather up much but my skin felt clean, soft and not tight or dry after washing it. Would buy again.

L'oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Solution: this was the very first micellar water that I bought and tried and left me quite disappointed. It says you can use it on face, eyes and lips and got it for removing mainly eye makeup, and even though I don't use waterproof products, this micellar water struggled to take them off, so I won't be buying it again. I recently purchased a mini of the Bioderma version but haven't tried it yet, hopefully it will be better than this one.

Schwarzkopf Gliss Liquid Silk Express-Repair-Conditioner: I love using leave-in conditioners on my hair. This one is quite affordable and leaves hair soft and shiny, would recommend if you are looking for a lightweight product this summer.

Nivea Light Moisturising Day Cream: this is meant to be for normal and combination skin, however is not very light and is also heavily scented. Too heavy for my oily skin so I wouldn't buy again. Full review here.

Sanctuary Spa Luxury Bath Float: a bath product that smells really nice though for some reason didn't produce lots of bubbles for me (probably because I didn't use a lot). It leaves skin feeling clean and soft, would probably use again. Full review here

L'oreal Skin Perfection Serum: this serum is light and moisturising and seems to even out skin a bit, it's ok but not amazing. My favourite serum from L'oreal is the Youth Code one. Also a lot of product gets left on the bottom of the bottle because the tube inside is not long enough and it's really hard to open the bottle up to get the leftovers. Full review here.

Pearl Drops Beauty Sleep: this is an overnight serum for teeth and gums to whiten, help restore & protect teeth. You are supposed to apply this before bed and leave it on for it to act while you sleep, or leave on for at least 30 minutes. I didn't see a massive difference with this product so I don't think I will be getting it again.

Food: The New Spring-Summer Menu at Pizza Express

New Spring-Summer Menu at Pizza Express dough balls doppio
New Spring-Summer Menu at Pizza Express pizza la reine
New Spring-Summer Menu at Pizza Express pizza pollo forza
New Spring-Summer Menu at Pizza Express panna cotta
New Spring-Summer Menu at Pizza Express summer pudding

I got invited recently to review Pizza Express' new spring and summer menu and on Saturday went with my husband to our local restaurant in Basildon to try it.

For starters we shared the Dough Balls Doppio, which is a double portion of soft and tasty dough balls with a trio of dips: pesto, garlic butter and n'duja. Our favourite dip was the garlic butter, it was slightly sweet with a garlic taste that's not overpowering.

Then for main, my hubby opted for La Reine pizza with prosciutto, olives and mushrooms, while I went for the new Pollo Forza pizza: chicken marinated in chilli powder with chargrilled peppers, finished with Gran Moravia cheese and chilli oil - a great option if you are a spicy food lover like me. The portions are quite big, I couldn't really finish mine but didn't mind as I had to leave some room for dessert!

And to satisfy my sweet tooth I tried the new Vanilla Panna Cotta, which is a light set cream dessert flavoured with vanilla bean, and my husband had the new Summer Pudding, made with seasonal berries and served with fruit coulis and mascarpone. I was quite intrigued by the panna cotta, as I'd never had one before, I thought it would be lighter like a flan, but was pleasantly surprised to discover it was quite thick and creamy, with a vanilla ice cream taste.

I actually had a hard time deciding between the Pollo Forza and the Sloppy Giuseppe for main, and the Panna Cotta and the Sorbet for dessert, so I might have to go back to try them as well!

The staff was polite and helpful, the service was quite quick and the food delicious, so if you are a fan of Italian food you'll enjoy trying Pizza Express' new menu. Find your closest restaurant here.

Banksy and Black Lips

banksy bethnal green flower painter

Last night we went to see Black Lips at Working Men's Club on Bethnal Green. We got there early, but when we arrived we noticed some painting on the side of the establishment and joked it was a Banksy, but I saw it had an acrylic layered on top so went back to check and realised it was.

The concert was wild, there was lots of crowd surfing, crazy dancing and pushing, followed by a stage invasion (including yours truly) when they started playing the last song on their set list - Bad Kids. I fell, got squashed and now there is a bump on the side of my shin. We had fun but had to leave after that song to catch the train home, so don't know if we missed them playing Funny, which I was waiting for them to do.

Looking forward to tomorrow's dinner time, I got invited to sample a chain restaurant's new spring menu. I'll tell you more about it on Monday.

Tweed Moto Jacket

Tweed Jacket, Cotton Shirt, Skinny Jeans, Cutout Boots: All H&M
(similars: jacket, shirt, jeans, boots)

H&M overdose. Most of my wardrobe consists of H&M pieces. I don't understand why some people constantly refer to it as a really cheap (as in low quality) brand, when it is quite affordable but the pieces are well made and even use great materials such as leather, silk and wool. It's my favourite place to shop and I'm afraid that won't change any time soon haha. And no, unfortunately I don't work there nor am sponsored by them but I definitely wouldn't mind ;)
On other news tomorrow we're going to see The Black Lips!

Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask

Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask

As part of a competition I received a Sanctuary Spa facial gift set, but when I opened it realised that it was missing the mask sachet; I mentioned it to the person that contacted me and they generously sent me the full sized product.

Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask is a warming charcoal treatment that will help cleanse and purify the skin, as well as rebalance the skin's oil levels to clarify and leave skin soft to touch. Other ingredients along charcoal include kaolin, to cleanse; and the oils of myrrh and sweet almond to soothe, calm and moisturise.

When I apply this mask it starts warming up as I massage it on and feels really hot, but doesn't take long to cool down. What I find very interesting is that even though it contains clay, it doesn't dry hard or leave skin feeling dry and tight, but actually leaves my skin feeling really soft and moisturised.

I would recommend Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask if you are looking for a deep cleansing mask that won't dry out your skin, though the self-heating factor might not be best suited for sensitive skin types.

Find Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask* in Boots.
