On Saturday we went to London to see The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier - From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk exhibition at the Barbican.

It features different collections and some of Gaultier's most renowned pieces worn by Kate Moss, Dita Von Teese, Lily Cole, Kylie Minogue and Madonna, including the infamous pointy bra worn by the material girl herself.

The amount of work and detail that goes into each piece is amazing and will absolutely will take your breath away. To be able to see his works in person was a wonderful experience (thanks Dot).

The exhibition is on until 25 August 2014 and I fully recommend visiting.

Southend-on-Sea

Southend-on-Sea is one of my favourite places in England as it's the first place my hubby took me when I came to visit him for the first time in 2010.
Though on this occasion I went without him for the first time ever, and took my family for the day on 25 June. Dot couldn't come with us because it's really busy at work, so I played tour guide for a couple of weeks, with the exception of the only weekend my family was here.
We went out almost every single day and it was exhausting but it was nice to spend some time with them.

Have you been to Southend-on-Sea?

I'm feeling much better now by the way, thanks everyone for your get well soon messages :)

Garnier Anti-Sun-Damage Daily Eye Cream

Garnier Anti-Sun-Damage Daily Eye Cream

I only started using an eye cream about 4 years ago, and I try to choose one with an SPF included in it, though they are a bit harder to find or on the pricier side, so a few months back when I was running out of my eye cream I saw the Garnier Nutrisioniste Skin Renew Anti-Sun-Damage Daily Eye Cream in TKMaxx, so I picked it up.

This eye cream claims to help reverse signs of sun damage around the eye area, such as fine lines, sun spots and dullness, as well as prevent future signs of aging with its SPF 15 UVA/UVB.

Garnier Anti-Sun-Damage Daily Eye Cream has quite a thick consistency, like an actual cream, instead of a lighter and more adequate one for the eye area, which feels a bit heavy and makes concealer cake on top of it. This eye cream also has a very apparent sunscreen smell to it, which I don't really mind but this product resembles pretty much a regular sunscreen instead of an eye cream.

About the sun damage reversal, I don't think it has done much about fine lines under my eyes but a sun spot on my eye area seems to be fading away, keeping in mind that I also use a serum aimed at reducing brown spots I can't really tell if it really is effective in reducing them.

Garnier Anti-Sun-Damage Daily Eye Cream is a product that I probably wouldn't repurchase but if you'd like to give it a try find it in Ulta and Ebay.

Have you tried this eye cream?

ASOS Sale Picks

ASOS sale clearance 70% off
My favourites from the ASOS sale. As you can see I have some sort of a fashion identity crisis - on one side I like minimalist and masculine inspired pieces and on the other there's the more feminine shapes and even pastel colours.

ASOS Olive Mac: Love the way it drapes (watch the catwalk video!)
Olivia Burton Coral Watch: Minimalist design with a pop of colour, what's not to like?
Marc Jacobs Mint Watch: There's also a black version but this one is great for summer.
New Look Pink Coat: I got this coat months ago full price and now it's over 50% off.
Ri2k Leather Bag: Such a classic shape, and it reminds me of the Hermes Birkin Bag (dupe alert)
ASOS T-Bar Shoes: A modern take on the T-bar shoes.
Steve Madden Flats: A more feminine flat shoe with ankle strap.
Lulu Guinness Makeup Bag: A cute little bag to keep your essentials in.

Did you see anything you like?

Cute Purple Homecoming Dresses 2014 at DressV

With homecoming parties and graduations going on, it's easy to get a bit stressed when thinking what to wear to the celebration party, as it is such a special occasion and you want to look your best for every picture.

At DressV they specialize in party and wedding dresses, so you can be sure you will find something to suit your style. This season they have lots of cute purple homecoming dresses in different shades and I'm going to share with you my personal favourites.

Cute Purple Homecoming Dresses 2014 at DressV   Cute Purple Homecoming Dresses 2014 at DressV

Pastels are so on trend and this lilac coloured dress on the left is so sweet and pretty. The vertical ruching detail on the bust area gives you more volume, while the contrasting panel exalts the waist, making it look smaller. Also the belt adds some more appeal with the sparkling jewels and sequins decoration, giving the appearance of an abstract glamorous belt and eliminating the need for lots more accessories. As you can see, this dress will help you achieve a very feminine hourglass look with the sweetheart neckline, belt and volume on the skirt, which is why I like it so much.

If pastels are not your thing, fear not as DressV has you covered. For the girl that prefers something that little bit different, this spectacular purple colour sheath dress will make you look regal as you party the night away. Featuring a slightly longer length than the previous dress, it will make you look slimmer and taller. It doesn't have the high shine satin finish or sparkly details of the previous dress, but instead offers a distinctive asymmetrical shape that is sure to get some attention. The pleats add structure and volume, but only on the right places, as this dress also has a small band under the bust to keep the shape from looking frumpy and shows off your waist instead.

If you like what you see find more cute purple homecoming dresses 2014 at DressV.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey

Last year I decided it was about time to give one of these so called lip crayons a try, and went for the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey after swatching it in the shop.

Revlon's Balm Stains claim to be a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lip stain in an adorable chubby crayon that gives you softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of colour that lasts hour after hour.

The packaging is really cute and sturdy, and I like how the colour matches the product inside, though the writing wears off with time.

The first time I actually applied Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey on my lips, I noticed how the colour turned into a bright pink on my lips, which left me disappointed as I was looking for a natural colour.

After that I gave it a couple more tries with the same result, so I put it away and tried it again this summer. I've come to terms with the colour and I like that lips feel moisturised after application. The product smells of mint and leaves a tingling sensation on the lips that goes away after a few minutes. The tint does last but obviously fades throughout the day.

One thing that caught my attention is that about only 1/2 of the crayon is filled with product, which is also a bit disappointing as the packaging could be made smaller and easier to carry around, or could contain more product inside.

It's an OK product that I will keep using but I don't think I would repurchase as the colour wasn't true and there are alternatives that offer SPF as well.

Find Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey on Superdrug (on offer 2 x £10) and Boots (buy 1 get 1/2 off)

Olay Microdermabrasion & Peel System

Olay Microdermabrasion & Peel System review

When I heard about microdermabrasion and peels I became really interested in them, as they could help fade away the scarring that resulted from years of getting spots.
On a day trip with my family to the USA I decided to pick up the Olay Microdermabrasion & Peel System, which is a treatment that helps resurface skin's texture, reactivate surface skin renewal, balance skin tone and regenerate skin's appearance, diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and condition skin to leave it feeling soft and smooth.

Olay Microdermabrasion & Peel System consists of 2 steps: first you apply the derma-crystals to clean, dry skin and massage for up to 1 minute, after that you apply the activator serum in a thick layer directly over the crystals, which will cause it to foam and warm up on your skin, and massage again for up to 1 minute. Then you only need to rinse off the product thoroughly with warm water.

After using this treatment my skin feels and looks really smooth, and after using it a few times I definitely noticed that the texture of my skin was smoother and the tone more even.
This treatment mentions that it is gentle enough to use up to 2 times a week, and that it contains 8 weeks of treatments, however it has lasted me longer than that as I don't use much product when I apply it.

You can find Olay Microdermabrasion & Peel System in Target (US) and Amazon (UK)
A similar option in the UK is the philosophy microdelivery peel, find it in Boots.
