I won a competition from J F Rabbit where I got a set of their Flavoured Waters and a tote bag. Got a new mohair jumper from H&M during the November sales.

Winter Fashion at Zaful

There are a lot of options for looking stylish with all the clothes and accessories available at Zaful - take a look at their Christmas deals, these are a few of my favourites:

Winter Accessories at Zaful

I think the velvet bag is such a luxurious accessory to add to any party outfit, the earrings offer an edgy but classy look and the beret will keep you looking warm and stylish, for more accessory ideas take a look at Christmas 2017 Zaful

The yellow coat might be a bit bright but I find it would look great in milder Autumn and Spring weather, whereas the plaid coat is a great statement piece for Winter.

As you can see, I'm a big fan of accessories and outerwear, and if so are you then do have a look at some of Zaful's Christmas deals 2017

OGX Kukui Hair Oil

OGX Kukui Hair Oil

A few months back I won a set of OGX products in a competition, including the OGX Kukui Hydrating Oil, which is a hair oil meant to help with frizzy hair thanks to the use of Hawaiian Kukui nut oil, known for it's humidity repelling properties, leaving your hair shiny and with a smooth texture.

What I really like about this oil is the scent, it's quite tropical, smells a little like coconut. It is also very lightweight - thanks to the use of silicones in the formula. It absorbs (or evaporates?) quite fast and leaves my hair feeling soft and it does help with smoothness.

What I don't love about it is the packaging, that pump is very hard to press down, especially with just one hand (which is what you normally do with pump products), also the product is not that nourishing so if you have really dry hair you might not find this very hydrating.

Find OGX Kukui Hair Oil in Superdrug.

Have you tried this oil?

Walking

Miniature Pink Flowers

Yesterday I walked to work and it was drizzling, it seemed fine until a few meters down the road I realised maybe I should have brought my umbrella, but it was too late to go back and get it. I didn't get too wet so it was ok ha.

Summer Fun

Rosegal Straw bag & Tassel earrings
Rosegal Tassel earrings

Dreaming of summer with these pieces from Rosegal. Can't wait for the next round of warm weather to style them with summery outfits. The straw bag has a very grown up, ladylike shape and details to it, and the earrings have the classic tassel design but with some added sparkle.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Peel & Drops of Youth Emulsion

The Body Shop Vitamin C & Drops of Youth Skincare

In September Dot gifted me a couple of skincare items from The Body Shop: the Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel and the Drops of Youth Fresh Emulsion.

The Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel targets pollutants sitting on the skin at the end of the day and has a gel to peel texture that gets rid of dull skin and leaves skin glowing.  As I was struggling a bit with hormonal acne, I didn't want to irritate my skin by adding more steps to my skincare routine so it took a few weeks to start using this product but when I started using it I loved it! It is super easy to use, you only need 2 pumps, which I dispense onto my hand then spread all over my face.

After that I start massaging it in until it forms little clumps (it says to rub for 20 seconds but it might need a bit more time for the clumps to start forming), then I rinse it off and it leaves my skin feeling super smooth and looking more even - the only thing I don't love about it is that it can feel a tiny bit sticky after rinsing but it's fine as I only use it at night time. It recommends using it 2 to 3 times a week but I've been using it just once for now as I don't want to upset my skin and I find that is enough for me, at least for now.

The Drops of Youth Fresh Emulsion is a day lotion with a very lightweight gel texture and SPF 20, which protects against pollution and hydrates the skin thanks to the use of babassu oil, thyme and buddleia extracts. It also claims to reduce first lines and signs of tired skin as well as refine the look of pores and texture of the skin.

This product is also very easy to use, as it comes with a dispenser pump, and you only need 2 pumps, otherwise it just feels like too much product on your face. It is very fast absorbed and doesn't feel greasy, however it does leave skin looking a little bit on the glowier side, which I am not the biggest fan of but that can be easily rfixed with some face powder. Also the smell is something that I don't find very pleasant, I can't even describe what it is, luckily it doesn't linger.

Overall, I really like both products, enjoy using them and would consider purchasing them in the future.

Have you tried The Body Shop facial skincare?

Pumpkin Carving 2017

Pennywise & Richie Tozier Pumpkin Lantern
Richie Tozier Pumpkin Lantern
Pennywise Pumpkin Lantern
Dot and I have been carving a pumpkin each for the last 4 years I think, we only do it for fun as we don't celebrate Halloween. I only remember trick or treating twice and never dressed up to go to a party.

This year Dot did Pennywise, and I, Richie from It. I was thinking mine didn't turn out too good but from a distance you can definitely tell who it is - I think ha. At least I made my own stencil P;

Cute Bags at Rosegal

As you might have noticed already, I am a bit of a bag fan, and by a bit I mean a lot. So here I want to show you a couple of my favourite bags that they currently have for sale on the Rosegal website.

Rosegal bags
The bags I chose could not be more different from each other, but I love them both! The bag on the left is a black leather bag, which makes it very durable. You can hold it 2 ways: with the handles or with the long strap and wear it across your body. And the stud details on the front give it a more edgy vibe. It would be a great casual bag for wearing during the day and also for travelling as it is quite spacious.

The bag on the right is so cute and feminine with its pink velvety fabric. The quilting shows off the sheen on the fabric and the gold hardware contrasts nicely with the pink colour. It can also be held 2 ways: as a shoulder bag with its long gold chain (not pictured) or as a clutch bag if you decide to hide away the chain inside the bag. It's a perfect bag for more formal occasions or even as a night bag.

Which one is your favourite?

Eyes Like Lighthouses When The Boats Come Home Review + Giveaway

Eyes Like Lighthouses When The Boats Come Home

Eyes Like Lighthouses When The Boats Come Home* is a collection of selected poems by Dane Cobain - an author and poet influenced by what most people would deem mundane, making you think about how we don't pay much attention to the things that we do regularly or most days, such as taking public transport.

Eyes Like Lighthouses When The Boats Come Home explores a variety of topics, including consumerism, politics, vegetarianism and inequality without the use of unnecessary fancy words, that resonate with everyone as he writes about such topics in a way that is easy to relate to - which is why I enjoyed reading the book: it is easy to read and understand -metaphors and all- but it's about current topics and relatable experiences.

Forest & Shore Hallelujah Hair Oil

Forest & Shore Hallelujah Hair Oil

A couple of weeks ago I received the Forest & Shore Hallelujah Hair Oil, which is a blend of organic oils that hydrate, nourish and restore damaged hair. Scented with rosemary, lavender and lemon, this natural oil blend will restore and smooth dry, damaged hair.

The Forest & Shore Hallelujah Hair Oil consists of sunflower, sesame, coconut and olive oil, which moisturises, protects from UV rays, tames frizz and stops breakage.

When I first tried it, I found that this oil did actually tame my frizzy hair. I applied 5 drops my palms, rubbed together then smoothed throughout mid lengthts and ends my hair (the recommended amount is 2-5 drops), and after letting my hair dry naturally, it was nowhere near as frizzy as it normally gets. It also made my hair feel soft and I love the lemony scent that comes through after the rosemary fades.

As you only need a tiny amount, this oil will last for ages. It also can be used as an intensive treatment, with 2-3 full pipettes massaged into the scalp and length of the hair, leaving it overnight and washing it out the next day, which is when the arnica extract would work it's magic as it has anti dandruff and itching combating properties, as well as strengthening hair follicules, thus preventing hair loss.

It is also really affordable for a natural, organic product at £10 for 50ml, or £13 for 100ml.

Asymmetrical Dresses at Rosegal

The last few days of summer are sadly already here, but it would be great to take advantage of them wearing transitional pieces, such as a black asymmetrical dress, which you could layer with tights, an oversized cardigan, ankle boots and a hat, or even a lightweight scarf if it's too chilly. Here are a couple of my favourite black asymmetrical dresses from Rosegal:

 Rosegal Asymmetrical Dress

The dress on the left is a wrap style one, with a very flattering V neck and it ties back around the waist. It has long sleeves so it will keep you warm as the temperatures start to slightly drop, and the floral print is beautiful. The skirt has flounces, which makes it very flirty looking, and it is a bit short but you can always add a pair of tights to keep your legs warm.

The dress on the right looks quite simple, however it has a subtle round hem that goes up at the side to add some interest to the design. It has a slightly rounded v neck and short sleeves, and another subtle detail at the back: a seam right along the middle. As I mentioned before, this short sleeve dress could be worn with a nice, cosy oversized cardigan and if it's too cold, with some tights, not necessarily in black, but maybe in a burgundy or forest green to add some colour to the outfit.

Which dress was your favourite?
